business cards are the new pick-up scene. i just stood in line to check in at my hotel...and before i knew it i was in full chat with this cute guy in line. by the end of the convo, i had his business card and a tentative drink in line.

not too forward like asking or giving out a cell phone number.
not as impersonal as giving an email... on a flimsy scrap sheet of paper you will lose anyway.
it is the perfect way to say, "let's get together under the guise of 'networking' but really what i mean is 'you're cute, let's chill...and here is everything you need to know about me on a 2" X 3" card so that you can stalk me online!"
LOVE it.
Um you can even take it one step further and get into the realm of "personal calling cards"! You can design and order them for super cheap on zazzle.com and basically achieve a similar result...without having to give away all the details of your boring (or not boring) job, plus you are really giving the hint that you aren't making a biz connection so much as a LOVE connection! Usually you'd put your name, email, and a phone # on these cards but you could go really simple and just have your first name plus your cell #. Kind of fun and unique!
