after 3 years of singledom and probably 50+ failed "where do we stand/what are we?" talks, i finally had the first reasonable, level-headed, realistic adult conversation about what we are/expectations/etc. at this stage....the conversation was in full honesty and disclosure... yet no one got scared, hurt, or jealous. it was frighteningly honest, and remarkably calming and comforting. i know where i/we stand and all unsettled questions have been answered.
while the result was that we remain "open," i do feel more confident and open to the possibility of something real happening with him or anyone else... still optimistic, but realistic...and for me, that was a breakthrough. not bad for a 3 day weekend at the beach....
